Betsy Perry, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, experienced in working with children and families. Betsy received her undergraduate degree from Tufts University and her Masters degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University. She has worked extensively with young children, adolescents and parents, in a variety of settings including home, school and outpatient clinics; and has provided clinical consultation to hundreds of preschools and elementary schools.
Betsy uses both psychodynamic and behavioral interventions, working with parents and children to best meet the needs of the child and family. She has many years of training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) which is a powerful, evidence-based intervention specifically for younger children. She is well versed in play therapy as well as more behavioral strategies. She has experience collaborating with schools to help determine best outcomes for children in the educational setting.
Betsy offers an initial consultation to assess and determine the best course of treatment for a child. Ongoing treatment may utilize play therapy, CPP, parent guidance, family sessions, school consultations, and referrals. Betsy brings over 20 years of experience working with young children, and is passionate about helping families navigate the wonderful, although sometimes confusing and challenging, path of parenthood.
